Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has accepted a suspended 23-month prison sentence for tax fraud and will pay an €18.8m fine.
However, Ronaldo - who missed a penalty during Juve’s 3-0 win against Chievo only the night before - will not serve any time behind bars, given the sentence is under two years and non-violent.
The 33-year-old, who left Real Madrid for Turin last summer, is accused of evading four years’ worth of tax between 2011 and 2014, comprising of four individual crimes, which totalled €14,768,897.
BBC concludes the deal will be presented to the judge during ‘a short court session’ on Tuesday, before a verdict is announced ‘in the coming days’.
