Gunners boss Unai Emery is ready to use rejected defender Karl Jenkinson as a permanent replacement
for the Injured Hector Belerin, after the Spanish international has been ruled out of the season, following a knell Injury sustained in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory against Chelsea in the Premier League last Sunday.
Further scans diagnosed Bellerin with a ruptured cruciate knee ligament Premier League giants, Arsenal, have been hit with a massive injury blow in Hector Bellerin.
According to reports, the star defender will not be able to feature for the Gunners for the remainder of the season after suffering a horrific injury during Chelsea win at the Emirates. The 23-year-old was diagnosed with a ruptured cruciate knee ligament after further assessments were carried out.
Bellerin went down in a heap in the 72nd minute of the Saturday, January 19, clash and was unable to continue playing. He was subsequently replaced by Egyptian international Mohamed Elneny, with Unai Emery admitting moments after the match that he expected Bellerin to be out for a lengthy period. Emery’s fears now seem to have been affirmed after scans revealing the worst for the player and the club who are battling for a top-four finish this season.
A UK Metro report citing the Guardian further disclosed the severity of the defender’s injury means Bellerin may even struggle for fitness to return for the start of next season. The injury now leaves Emery with a selection nightmare, with the right-back now likely to be replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles or Stephan Lichtsteiner in Arsenal’s starting XI. Englishman Carl Jenkinson could be another potential option, but he is yet to play a single minute in the Premier League so far this season under Emery.
Emery has been in contact with Denis Suarez agent for a loan move until the end of the season, and opinions have stated that he would probably find another replacement for the former Barcelona target. as the Gunners keeps drawing closer to top four finish.
