EXPOSED! What Troy Deeney Told Unai Emery After Red Card Following Lucas Torreira Clash

YFDTv Sport News

Watford striker Troy Deeney blasted Lucas Torreira after being sent off in the first half of the Hornets clash with Arsenal at Vicarage Road. Deeney was dismissed just 12 minutes into the encounter, following an off-the-ball incident with the Uruguayan midfielder. The Watford captain brushed past diminutive midfielder Torreira but appeared to catch the ex-Sampdoria man with his elbow - just moments after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had given Arsenal the lead.

Referee Craig Pawson didn’t see the incident but was referred to it by one of his officials. And he subsequently sent off the Watford talisman.Deeney would have words with the official, labelling the decision "a f****** embarrassment" before discussing the incident with Torreira.

On his way down the tunnel, Deeney removed his shirt and let the fourth official know his feelings on the situation. He also directed his ire towards Arsenal boss Unai Emery, in particular voicing his disdain at Torreira. Pointing back towards the field, Deeney declared: “He’s a f****** p****. “I’ve ran past him." Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Chris Sutton said Deeney could have no complaints.

“Troy Deeney has simply let his team down,” said Sutton. “He is the leader and the focal point in this Watford side but that was stupid. I don’t know what he is arguing about. “He did thrown an arm. Brainless!" Deeney was left to watch the remainder of the half from the tunnel area - 18 months on from his 'cojones' jibe at the Gunners. Gary Neville, speaking on Monday Night Football, said of the red card: "15 years ago, you’d say he’s not done a lot wrong. "In the 2019 Premier League, he’s got nowhere to go."
