La Liga giants Real Madrid have taken first concrete steps towards their attempts to sign Liverpool star Mohamed Salah in their upcoming summer transfer campaign to bolster Zinedine Zidane’s side, according to French reports.

Salah managed to retain the Golden Boot award for the second successive year this term, sharing the award with his teammate Sadio Mane and Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who also finished on 22 goals.

Despite losing out the English Premier League title with Liverpool on final gameday, the 24-year-old has the chance to become the first Egyptian player in history to lift the Champions League title after securing a final showdown clash for the second consecutive year this time against Tottenham Hotspur.

According to French outlet Canal+, Real Madrid made a first approach to Liverpool over a potential deal for Salah, with a bid yet to have been made.

Los Merengues president Florentino Perez set to hand returning coach Zidane a hefty transfer kitty in order to revamp the squad and get back to glory after a ending season 2018/2019 with no trophies.

However, it might be far-fetched that Liverpool let go of the Egypt international who scored 70 goals in 103 appearances across all competitions since arriving from Roma.
