Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has had a fantastic start as interim manager of Manchester United as he’s still yet to taste defeat.

The Norwegian manager has now been in charge for ten matches in all competitions, winning nine and drawing one.

He's injected positivity into the football club, which has improved the form of a number of first team players including Paul Pogba, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, David De Gea, Ander Herrera, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof.

But, did you know that Solskjaer prepared for life as a manager by playing the popular football simulation game Football Manager?

Football Manager is a football management simulation video game where you can take control of domestic or international football teams.

Solskjaer, speaking to Dagbladet in 2013, revealed how he started playing Football Manager when he was a player at Manchester United.

"When I played for Man U, I relaxed by playing Football Manager," revealed Solskjaer.

"It's a fantastic game, I have learned a lot about football. I have learned a lot about players, especially young talent.

"It resembles real life, when it comes to who will be good players. They have done incredible research.

"I remember thinking the same then, that I do as a manager, you want to give young guns the chance, see them develop.

"You could push a few buttons and get extra millions to buy a player. I never enjoyed that. I would rather win in spite of, than because of.

"Many of my players play FIFA and Football Manager. I think it helps them to understand football better."

So, there you go. Football Manager is not 'just' a game, it's a way of preparing yourself for real life football management. Just ask Solskjaer.
